The Stinky Sneaker event, held at Skyline High School in a joint effort between the Skyline and Issaquah High School Strong4Sam clubs, was a fun, successful event raising $2500 for pediatric cancer research. Skyline's boys and girls basketball teams won the contests on the court but all teams can agree that the real success was making a dent in the fight against pediatric cancer. Thanks to our Sammamish and Issaquah community for the support of Strong4Sam.
We've all heard It's better to give than receive and Ava, Claire, Lisette and Logan all put this idea into action at a combined Sweet 16 birthday recently. These young ladies asked their party guests to consider a donation to Strong4Sam rather than birthday gifts for themselves. And their friends listened and responded with an amazing donation total of over $1400.00 to Strong4Sam to help in our mission of finding more effective and less toxic therapies for pediatric cancer. It's unexpected gifts like this from amazing young people (raised by really cool parents) that energizes all of the Strong4Sam board...
Here's something you will just love. Strong4Sam President, Mike Crisp, asked us to publish this letter to "edify and acknowledge those young kids [who make up Team Scorpion] who gave up part of their weekend to help..." at Issaquah Salmon Days in October. Enjoy!
